Not that there are too few such platforms that could give women founders a leg up (Women 2.0?), but what sets Women Innovative Mobile apart is its mobile focus. Mobile is going to be hot all of next year. Might as well carve a niche for females this early. The application process extends up to February 1 with finals on March. Angel investors are already on board and WIM has cited Golden Seeds, Sequoia Capital, First Round Capital, and Women 2.0 as backers.
The tentative schedule sets June 2012 as the culmination of the accelerator program with an official climax on the 29th. Women Innovative Mobile was founded by a three-way partnership of veteran entrepreneurs with colorful backgrounds to boot. Deborah Jackson (pictured top left), Veronika Sonsev, and Kelly Hoey are the faces of WIM who have the avowed goal to create ‘best in class’ businesses via their accelerator program.
WIM currently offers office space and modest seed funding to a handful of successful applicants.
