J.Crew’s international markets jumped from 29 to 107 countries overnight with the help of e-commerce solutions provider FiftyOne. Since 1999, FiftyOne has been helping companies and retailers scale their businesses internationally, to more than 90 countries worldwide.
FirstOne’s clients include brands such as Overstock.com, Brookstone, drugstore.com, The Buckle, Anne Geddes, Belisi, Chefs Catalog, and Johnson & Murphy.
“To do international by yourself, you need to place bets on what countries you think have the biggest opportunities for your brand, and spend significant dollars setting up shop there,” says Kris Green, Chief Strategy Officer at FiftyOne. “We help retailers avoid needing to make those bets upfront.”
Using e-commerce, businesses are not tied with selling their products and services from a physical store. This also allows companies to test the waters first and see whether their brands will be able penetrate international markets.
This expansion will undoubtedly open up J.Crew’s collection of women’s, men’s and children’s apparel and accessories, including swimwear, outerwear, loungewear, wedding, bags, hair accessories, belts, jewelry, and shoes to the rest of the online world.
