VillageVines Scores $3 Million In Latest Funding Round

The people over at restaurant discount providers VillageVines must be giddy right now thanks to a generous injection of funding led by Hearst Interactive Media.VillageVines specializes in letting its users avail of discounts when they eat at great restaurants across several cities, including New York, Washington D.C., and L.A.

Also involved in the latest round were GrandBanks Capital and High Peaks Venture Partners who have noted the positive growth of Village Vines, which has already made half a million in sales during the holidays.The same 500,000 figure applies to VillageVines’ user base and among its other accomplishments include a successful demo during a previous NY Tech Mixer event.

More than just a gateway for users scouting nice restaurants, Village Vines offers a variety of features that puts a new slant on the dining experience through bookings, non-couponed discounts, and access to lists of exclusive dining places. Some of the startup’s better known partner resto’s are LeCirque, Aquavit, Vidalia, and C-House. But it’s the discounts that remains VillageVines’ core service, as members can have 30% of their dinner bill shaved off. The strategy has reaped its fair share of rewards, with the startup’s user numbers growing at a steady pace since its launch in May last year.

This latest injection of funding will be spent on expanding Village Vines’ operations, from new staff hires to increasing their visibility across the country.
