Subscription Startups Are Very Fat Cash Cows

Nowadays, people will buy just about anything and - have it delivered to their homes. For example, BarkBox, Meetup co-founder Matt Meeker’s new start-up, just raised $100,000 from angel investors just so your dogs can enjoy their monthly treats and new toys.

Subscription Startups are gaining headway now that more and more people are willing to pay for it, most are cashing in. Birchbox last year raised a $10.5M series A with their subscribers reaching 45,000 last June. Who knew that a company that delivers a curated box of cosmetic goods to your doorstep each month can be this successful?

Let me share to you more of my favorites:

CraftCoffee sends monthly tasting boxes.

Love With Food is “A monthly subscription service (launched in Dec 2011) that delivers a box of unique and hard-to-find gourmet samples to your door.”

Manpacks delivers “Manly goods. On a schedule.”

Bespoke Post  is a curated product subscription service for guys. Members receive a Box of Awesome using a combination of their personality profile and our curators. Each box is filled with guy stuff from emerging brands: a whiskey set, a shaving kit, meat, and more.

Elizabeth & Clarke mails subscribers three perfect white shirts.

GuyHaus ships toiletries.

In 2011, a few foreign startups launched theirs. Shoes4You is a Brazilian shoe subscription service. Facekitt is a Singaporean Birchbox knockoff and Kopi in the U.K. mails you coffee.

Are you looking for a new subscription service? I bet there’s a startup for that.
