Preplay Sports, “the world’s first, best predictive game studio”, has just snagged $3.1 M in a Series A funding round.
The round is led by Gary Vaynerchuk, host of Wine Library TV, RSE Ventures CEO Matt Higgins and other angel investors.
But even before this new cash, the company has been doing well. It has landed a major deal with the NFL (very impressive for a startup developer). The company also scored a Subway sponsorship when it featured the Super Bowl.
The company offers apps for predictive game participation. Users predict the next play moments before it actually happens. Players can use the app to have a fun competition with friends and enhance the game-watching experience.
There are 2 free apps available only on the iOs platform. With the football season coming, we can “predict” an NCAA or NFL focused version coming soon.
PrePlay intends to use the fresh funds tom hire additional staff, develop additional content for its games and seek opportunities in the entertainment space. The realm of entertainment space being reality contests and award shows on television.
