NY Tech Day: It’s a Wrap!

The all day start-up expo NY Tech Day just concluded at the Lexington Armory. More than 160 companies participated in it including Birchbox, Boxee, Chartbeat, Meetup, SecondMarket, Tumblr, Uber, ZocDoc, General Assembly,

Aside from those, new names such as Nappkin and MatchPuppy (a dog’s version of Match.com) were also there. All 160 booths were busy as 3,500 attendees registered for the event.

The keynote speakers were David Tisch, managing editor of TechStars NY and Charlie O’Donnel, founder of Brooklyn Bridge Adventures. “I think it’s exciting to see a fantastic group of NYC based startups under one roof,” Mr. Tisch said in a statement.

Some of the award winners of the event include SendGrid for best enterprise, Temboo for best business model and Unroll.me for best unfunded startup.

The event was organized by MailManhattan co-founders John Petersen and Alec Hartman. Backing them up were big-name sponsors such as Bing, Verizon, Time Warner Cable, SorinRoyerCooper, and Box.
