NY Tech Day Celebrates The Big Apple’s Tech Culture

NY Tech Day is a grand celebration of the Big Apple’s flourishing tech culture. This much-awaited tech event will be on April 19 at the Lexington Armory (68 Lexington Ave, NY). Registration is free, for now, but is limited to the first 1,000 people so you might want to sign-up this early. The organizers are also inviting early stage start-ups to compete for a free spot on the expo floor. Winning this will give their company the rare opportunity to meet potential investors and also allow them some media mileage.

The first half of the one-day expo starts at 10:00 AM where 200 tech start-ups gather to showcase their awesome ideas and products to everyone – random onlookers, the competition, or their future investors. Comcast Ventures, ff Ventures and Spark Capital are some of the many investors confirmed to attend. Up to 4:00 PM, attendees will be able to cast their vote in support of their favorite start-ups for the various awards to be given out that evening.

6:00 PM marks the start of the NY Tech Day Award Ceremony. Select sponsors and investors will give their remarks followed by a panel discussion about the future of the NY start-up community. The night will culminate with the presentation of awards with quirky names like “King of New York”, “Will Startup For Money” and “Prettiest Girl In The Ball”, to name a few.

The people behind this event are John Peterson (MailManhattan), Alec Hartman (NYC on Rails), Erica Virtue (Vitogo) and Candice Shaffer.
