No More Cab Stealing, SedanMagic’s App Lets You Reserve Your Ride.

SedanMagic, a sedan and taxi booking app, has just hit the streets. The app lets you book a ride or schedule it for later. It offers transparent pricing so you know how much the ride’s gonna cost you (tip included).

Currently, an executive sedan is assigned but 2 or 3 sedans will be available soon. The customers can track their rides on the map and see how fast they were approaching.

Sedan Magic’s parent company RideCharge, Inc works with established fleets for both taxis and sedans. “By integrating with their in-house dispatch software systems, we can connect to all of their cars and offer taxi and sedan booking at huge scale,” says Matt Carrington, Sedan Magic Ride’s Director of Marketing and Communication.

After just a week in operation, the app already allows you to connect with 400 vehicles in New York City.

The company is competing with the likes of Uber and GroundLink. Groundlink and SedanMagic are handy with their advanced booking abilities. Uber needs to brush up on and is having a hard time making it in New York. Uber is making big buck in San Francisco. Prices for an SUV are about the same for GroundLink and SedanMagic. But ironically enough, it’s more expensive to rent a sedan with Sedan with SedanMagic.

A trip from Brooklyn to the Upper West Side in a sedan costs under $50 on GroundLink while it costs $75 on Sedan Magic. So it’s worth comparing the two’s fares before you book.

SedanMagic’s CEO and co-founder Tom DePasquale is a serial entrepreneur who sold his travel management startup, Outtask, to Concur Technologies. It was while at Concur that he realized that the ground travel industry needed an app. He started RideCharge in 2007 which paved the way for SedanMagic.
