Mobile Q&A Hub Opinionaided Raises Big Series A Round

OpinionadedOpinionaided has a lovely niche to grow in. It’s a mobile app where users get their queries answered by other users. Sounds great, but what’s better than a unique core feature is hefty Series A funding. Last week, Opinionaided announced on its blog that a pool of VCs and investors had endowed it with $4.3 million in Series A. The iOS inclined startup already made it known that the extra cash goes to improving their product, especially on the Android front. Says so on their site: ‘Android coming soon.’ Founded in 2010, Opinionaded grew to become a certified hit, claiming 165 million opinions have moved through its iOS app.

The Series A round was led by SoftBank Capital and BlueRun ventures plus ENIAC ventures, General Catalyst, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Vince Monical, Karl Jacob, Jonah Goodhart, and Mark Wachen.

To commemorate the Series A arrival, co-founder and CEO Dan Kurani had this to say:

“Helping users share and receive real-time opinions on the go has been an incredibly social phenomena, one which we are fully embracing while continuing to build the utility of the platform,” said Dan Kurani, co-founder and CEO of Opinionaided. “Our broad base of A-list investors is a testament to how Q&A is evolving beyond simple fact-based services to the massive market of opinion and advice-based communication. With this funding we aim to rapidly innovate and cement a leadership position within this space.”
