John Rourke is the CEO & co-founder of Bantam Live.  Bantam Live is an online collaboration service that integrates social CRM and project management with team microblogging for business teams to get work done. Users can track contacts and deals, search and import contacts and leads from social networks, organize projects and tasks, and share files, calendars, etc.  The team is currently looking for free-trial customers, ecosystem partners, and Rails developers.  John Rourke will be presenting Bantam Live on April 29th at the NY Tech Mixer Meetup’s Demos & Drinks event.

Can you tell us about your company and product?

Bantam Networks, LLC is located in SoHo and we’re a 7 person company. Our product, called Bantam Live, is an online service for business teams to collaborate in a workspace and build relationships across the web. With integrated applications of microblogging, social CRM and project management in a multi-tenant architecture, the Bantam Live product is centered around its real-time stream, where people, applications, and data come together. Communication is fused with business productivity apps that weave purposefully into business workflows (contact management, CRM, task management, calendaring, deal tracking, project management, etc.) all of which cascade in the dashboard stream.

What were you doing before Bantam Live?

I’ve been doing internet ventures/projects since 1995 and other tech ventures before that.

What keeps you motivated?

Customer feedback and investor expectations.

What advice would you give to other aspiring entrepreneurs?

I want to say one word to you. Just one word. Are you listening? …Plastics.

Lastly, with this being a Demos and Drinks event, what’s your drink of choice?
