Cookstr Cooks Up Deal with AARP

Cookstr just cooked up a delicious deal with AARP that will soon get the business going: AARP.org visitors who use Cookstr’s search engine can now find recipes that are deliciously healthy.

Cookstr is a New York City-based startup founded in 2008 that has been publishing recipes from the best cookbook authors around. It has also been providing branded websites food-oriented search features. The startup was backed angel investors like Dorothy Cann Hamilton, the founder and CEO of the International Culinary Center, Fank V. Sica, Tailwind Capital managing partner and JetBlue board member, and a duo of eMarketer executives, Terrh Chabrowe and Crystal Gurin, It was set to make huge profits since it was founded, and as of now, it hasn’t failed to do just that.

In the last twelve months, Cookstr has received more than 20 million page views over at their site, and has featured top chefs like Nigella Lawson, the Naked Chef Jamie Oliver, and culinary genius Mario Batali. Over 400 authors have already been featured in their website. Cookstr also made its way to the top when it snagged Bravo TV online as its first major client. Until today, they provide the content for Bravo TV’s “Recipe Finder.”

Their latest partnership with American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) is the icing on the cake. With Cookstr’s search engine, retired people can now choose recipes that their palates fancy, but are still in line with their dietary requirements. Statistics show that people 50 years old and above have cooking as one of their top hobbies and interest, and with the easy-to-follow recipes at Cookstr, the young-at-heart will be able to indulge themselves in their mouthwatering pastime more often.
