What were you doing before

I was working towards receiving my MBA in Marketing Management from St. John’s University. I’m still trying to complete my degree while working full-time. It’s been hectic to say the least.

What keeps you motivated?

When I was younger, my father told me this quote whenever I failed at something and get frustrated. It’s very cliché, but he told me, “There’s always going to be people better than you at something, but there’s no reason anyone should ever work harder than you.” I have done my best to stay true to that quote in my life. Nothing in life that is worth doing is ever easy and you always have to be willing to work hard.

What has been the most challenging aspect about working for a startup so far? What has been the most rewarding?

Working for a startup is such a unique experience, and it brings along a unique set of challenges. You are trying to accomplish something that nobody has done before, so there is no blueprint of what works and what doesn’t.

The rewarding part of it is when you eventually reach success, which I’m fortunate enough to say I’ve had some of so far in my short career, is that you know it resulted from your own hard work and determination. There is no better feeling in the world than when you accomplish something knowing that you did it all yourself.

What do you do for fun when not working at

Working for a startup while going to school full-time doesn’t exactly give me a ton of spare time. When I do, I enjoy being a normal 24-year-old. I like going out and experiencing New York City’s vast nightlife. I’m also a huge movie buff. Some of my favorites are Pulp Fiction, Ghostbusters, and The Godfather Part I and II. Part III doesn’t exist to me.

What is your favorite drink?

I’m a man’s man, Johnny Walker with one ice cube.
